Ericsson signs up Greek telco WIND Hellas as 5G client

Swedish telecommunications equipment vendor Ericsson has signed a five-year deal with Greek mobile network firm WIND Hellas as its latest client for both standalone and non-standalone 5G technology.

Swedish telecommunications equipment provider Ericsson has signed a deal with Belgium's biggest mobile provider Proximus to provide the latter with 5G core equipment and also modernising its existing 4G core.

Global integrated telecommunications firm Deutsche Telekom has chosen Swedish telecommunications equipment provider Ericsson to deploy a 5G radio access network after the latter has helped modernise its 2g, 3G and 4G networks.

The British Government will reportedly set a deadline of 2025 for the removal of gear made by Chinese telecommunications equipment vendor Huawei Technologies from its 5G networks, a newspaper claims as reported by Reuters.
